Vessel summary
The MV 'LOUISIANA TRADER' (ex. "Conti Daphne"; "Maruba Asia") is a 30,580 DWT, 22,801 Gross Tonnage, Malta flagged, geared Feedermax Container vessel built to a good standard by Aker MTW Werft GmbH, in Germany under DNV - Det Norske Veritas Class supervision. She was delivered on the 13th March 2008. The vessel continues to be classed with DNV.

A Pre-purchase Inspection of the vessel was conducted on the 4th November 2021 in Colon, Panama by IDWAL under instruction from Transmar.

Good cooperation was provided by the ship’s crew however, no access was possible to the ballast tanks as enclosed space entry procedures were inadequate onboard. The vessel was alongside, conducting cargo operations at the time of inspection.

The vessel was found to be in a fair overall condition with an Idwal Grade below the industry average for vessels of a similar age, type and size but with numerous notable items found during the inspection. These are reported specifically in the notable items section of this report and pictures for the Notable Items are attached to this report.

The onboard management was found to be fair and the vessel generally maintained to only a fair standard. The vessel was found to provide a safe working environment. The Port State Control (PSC) history was found to be very good with 0 deficiencies and 0 detentions in the 7 inspections conducted in the past three years.

Given the fair overall condition of the vessel, OPEX levels are likely to be up to 5% higher than for vessels of a similar age, type and size, until the notable items identified have been rectified.
